Causes of Deforestation:
The causes of deforestation are understandable, but the government tends to forget about the people that live in the forests prior to them being destroyed. The forests are cleared for cattle grazing and agriculture. It makes space to plant crops, but after a year, the farmers leave because the land dries up. They cut down forests to just abandon the space a short time after. Although the effects are bad, people do it to raise money for their families and the rest of their village, for example, wood harvesting. Timber is a big business in South Asia and deforestation helps that industry remain popular. On the other hand, the greenhouse effect is in action big time because of deforestation. Deforestation releases more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which is also causing global warming. The population is growing rapidly in South Asia, and deforestation helps create extra room for families that don’t have anywhere to live. Some causes are reasonable, but others are ruining our planet and the environment.
